05/03/08 - Road Track's Dream finished a disappointing seventh at 2-1 on the polytrack at Arlington in her first start for trainer Tom Amoss. The race was moved from the turf and that obviously was not advantageous for our filly.
05/02/08 - Aly's Arch Angel made a good showing in an allowance contest for non-winners of two at Turf Paradise. She finished a good second, about a length and a quarter behind the winner.
04/25/08 - Mafia Queen had a rough day. She got in tight on the rail, took up sharply and refused to run on after the half mile. She finished a disappointing last.
04/23/08 - Whitney gave it a good effort in the Grade 3, $100,000 Wilshire Handicap on opening day at Hollywood Park, but she ran into a field that was simply too tough. She was beaten a little over seven lengths. The winner got a tremendous Beyer speed figure of 98.
04/18/08 - Aly's Arch Angel ran a decent race, but was forced to close into slow fractions and just didn't have the punch down the lane to get it done. She was only beaten two lengths, but finished 6th.
04/11/2008 - Billy Boy's Buddy turned in another consistent performance, but fell short against maiden allowance company, finishing 3rd, beaten by about a length and a quarter. Billy will likely get one more shot to break through at the current Turf Paradise meet late in April.
04/05/2008 - Mafia Queen did not perform well as the favorite in a conditioned allowance event on the turf. She held a contested lead for a half and had no response when challenged in the far turn. She looks like a filly that needs a period of rest.
04/04/2008 - Star of Whitney got back on track in style Friday in an allowance race that was used as a prep for her upcoming title defense in the Desert Sky Handicap on May 3rd. Whitney took care of business, winning the 7.5 furlong allowance event with relative ease in an eye-catching 1:27.92. The time eclipsed the old track record with the rail out by nearly a second and a half. Star of Whitney paid an even $4.00 for the win and increased her lifetime earnings to better than $175,000.
03/24/2008 - Aly's Arch Angel tried her non-preferred dirt surface for the first time in a long time against a field of conditioned allowance fillies and mares at Turf Paradise. Aly trailed early and never really got into the race until very late. She passed a few tiring runners in the stretch to nab fifth. We will likely go back to the grass with her from here on out.
03/22/2008 - Billy Boy's Buddy turned in a mildly disappointing effort as the second choice in a field of maiden allowance colts and geldings at Turf Paradise. Billy broke first and led to the stretch through moderately fast fractions before tiring to finish fourth, some five lengths behind the winner.
03/14/2008 - Road Track's Dream didn't disappoint her backers as she rallied from far back to collar the leader in mid-stretch and win going away as the 4/5 favorite in a conditioned allowance event at Turf Paradise. The victory by our four year-old daughter of High Yield was an impressive one as she was forced to make up ground into very slow early fractions. Road Track's Dream now has two wins and a second place finish in three allowance starts this year.
03/07/2008 - Mafia Queen picked up her second straight show finish in allowance company at Turf Paradise. Mafia Queen opened up on the field early and led into stretch before tiring to finish third, a head out of second.
03/02/2008 - Billy Boy's Buddy followed up his most recent third place finish with a solid second in his fourth career lifetime start. Billy stalked a moderate pace from third before shooting through the rail to challenge for the lead in mid-stretch. He dug in gamely, but was outfininished by a well backed first time starter by Unbridled's Song that brought a million dollars as a yearling at the Keeneland sales.
02/29/2008 - Aly's Arch Angel took to the turf to face a field of eight older fillies and mares in an open claimer at Turf Paradise. Aly rated behind a moderate pace, swung out for the drive and closed to finish a good third.
02/20/2008 - Storm of Honor followed up his fourth place finish in the Turf Paradise Derby with an allowance romp on the grass. Storm took command at the start, rated nicely through moderate fractions, and opened up by eight lengths in mid-stretch before coasting in to win by better than six lengths. Storm improved his grass record to 2 wins in 3 starts. A return to stakes company is likely for Storm's next start.
02/18/2008 - Mafia Queen took to the dirt to take on six others in an allowance event for fillies and mares going a mile. Mafia Queen sprinted to the lead early and maintained a clear lead into the stretch before being headed in mid-stretch. She dug in gamely, staying within a head of the eventual winner down much of the lane before dropping back less than 50 yards from the wire. She finished third, beaten just over a length in a good effort.
02/17/2008 - Billy Boy's Buddy's third career start against maiden allowance company was a much improved one with blinkers on for the first time.&n
